Nekketsu Oyako
(PlayStation)

Nekketsu Oyako is one of the few 2D side-scrolling, Final Fight-style beat-em-ups to be released on post-16 bit consoles - made by Tecnosoft (best known for the Thunderforce series, no relation to Technos) for the Playstation and Saturn in 1994, it was one of the first Japanese PSX games, but really looks more like an SNES (or maybe Neo-Geo) title. Not that that's a bad thing. Anyways, as far as Final Fight clones go, this is one of the better ones, and it doesn't seem take itself too seriously, considering the boxing octopi and whatnot.

Everything was uncompressed and pretty easy to hack once I knew what I was doing - all of the text is translated, except for the "Nekketsu Oyako" kanji displayed before the title, which I intentionally left alone. The translated game has been tested to the end in ePSXe v1.6.0, and nearly to the end on a real PlayStation (with PS-X-Change 2 disc and spring thingy), and worked perfectly in both cases.
